Company Overview

Alexander Lucey is a specialist recruitment agency for the catering and hospitality industry. Currently spanning the South of England and the Midland counties, we continue to grow and expand across the UK.

Our team of consultants have a wealth of experience in specialised recruitment and come from a background of working in the hospitality industry themselves. We value this experience hugely, as it allows us to understand the day-to-day running of businesses in the industry and the importance of finding the right people for the right roles.

We continue to expand our diverse client base, which ranges from Michelin Star accredited restaurants to contemporary boutique hotels as well as restaurant brands and pubs of quality.

Key People

Alex Hunt – Managing Director

Alex has worked for the Catering and Hospitality industry since 1996 and has the same passion and commitment he began with.

Starting in pub and restaurant management roles, then he progressed to kitchen management and later a Head Chef position for an exclusive boutique hotel in the South of France.

He studied Hospitality Management at the University of Guildford, before founding his recruitment consultancy in 2004.

Alex holds shares in a privately owned restaurant in Surrey, where he is actively involved in decisions at board level and acts as an Operations Consultant for the business. This gives him the benefit of a unique position, which allows him to fully understand the needs of the employer and the employee and the importance of building a successful relationship between the two.

George Alderman – Senior Resourcer

George joins us having combined a career in journalism with extensive time in the hospitality industry. While working his way up to Sky News, he also spent many years running the floor of restaurants and behind a bar.

He’s looking forward to working for managing director Alex Hunt again, after managing the restaurant he owns in Surrey for many years.

Having interviewed many high profile celebrities, sports stars and politicians as a journalist, George knows the right questions to ask. His keen eye for detail is sure to help when it comes to finding the right job, for the right person and business.

Away from work, George enjoys most sports and building on his knowledge of hospitality by sampling the best food and drink that he can find.


Paul Wilkinson – Recruitment Consultant

Whilst this may be Paul’s first opportunity at combining the two, Paul joins the team with a wealth of experience in the Hospitality and Recruitment industries. After studying Physiology & Biochemistry at Reading University, Paul joined a niche City recruitment firm working for several Financial Services clients. After 5 years of City life, he felt it time to realize his calling and returned to the Hospitality sector.

Having quickly climbed the managerial ladder, Paul worked across 6 brands for one of the largest Pub companies in the UK. From local boozer, Cocktail bar, Gastropub or Sports bar, Paul has developed an appreciation not only for the variety of the trade, but also their customers and how best to cater for them.

Paul looks forward to blending his corporate recruitment experience with his knowledge and understanding of the Hospitality sector, whilst still fulfilling his primary passion for establishing personal working relationships and exceeding their expectations.

Outside of work, Paul devotes time to his eclectic interests ranging from graphic novels to mixology, film appreciation or even the occasional run.


 Frances Ross – Team Resourcer

A  truly dedicated foodie. Frances started her career as running around her family’s restaurant, helping in all areas of the business Frances quickly understood what it takes to survive in the world of hospitality! Being such an enthusiast, she still helps out at her best friends delicatessen in her local village on the weekends, on top of being a recent mum!

Fran juggles being a mum with resourcing for Alexander Lucey at home, she is able to source a wide variety of candidates and assists the team here to find the best candidates in the shortest time.  Fran helps ensure Alexander Lucey are on top of their game at all times.
